The Commission’s mission is to promote and uphold the principles stated in: the Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms,the Youth Protection Act, and the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The Commission also ensures the enforcement of the Act respecting equal access to employment in public bodies.
The CNESST has been entrusted with the promotion of workers rights and obligations by the Québec government. It ensures the respect of Québecois workers and employers.
The Office de la protection du consommateur is an agency of the Government of Québec. We interact with merchants to make sure that they respect their obligations towards consumers. Our involvement focuses on helping consumers make sound choices and on keeping consumers informed of their rights, obligations and possible recourses should they run into problems with a merchant.
The Ombudsman de Montréal offers to citizens who believe they are adversely affected by a decision, act or omission of Ville de Montréal, an easily accessible and free recourse. The Ombudsman may investigate a complaint and determine whether, in her opinion, the citizen has suffered a true prejudice. If such is the case, she will intervene with the City in order to have the decision changed or the situation rectified.
